Vehicle Sharing Program

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) is soliciting Requests-for-Proposals for a contractor or contractors to establish and operate in the Contractor's name a Shared-Vehicle Operation at and near selected Metrorail Stations approved by Metro. The contractor is expected to offer a share of revenues to Metro. The Contractor shall select the Metrorail Stations where it would like to locate the vehicles based upon a pre-defined list of available stations from Metro. The Contractor shall organize the business, procure necessary equipment, obtain all necessary licenses and permits, and have a complete organization ready to begin service at the start date of the Contract.

The Contract will be for a base period of one-year with a four one-year option period, exercisable at the sole discretion of Metro. It is the intent that the program will provide value, accessibility and convenience to customers, as well as enhance Metrorail ridership.

This is a competitive solicitation whereby a contract or contracts may be awarded to one or more entities. The Due Date and Time for the receipt by METRO of the Proposals is October 31, 2008 at 2:00pm.
